What Is an Intuitive Reading? A Beginner’s Guide
I see clients from across the country and from all walks of life, and one common question I’m often asked is, “What exactly is an intuitive reading?”.
I am more than happy to tell you all about it, or at least my version.
An intuitive reading is sometimes synonymous with a psychic reading.
So what does “psychic” mean? Dictionay.com defines ‘psychic’ as “outside of natural or scientific knowledge; spiritual; sensitive to influences or forces of a nonphysical or supernatural nature.” (Dictionary.com, n.d.) ‘ Intuitive’ is defined as “perceiving directly by intuition without rational thought, as a person or the mind.”
Tomato/tomato, but the bottom line is, I read energy.
The “reading” part of the intuitive reading refers to the energy and information that I “read” about a person or situation and then share that information with my client.
Although, all psychics work differently, I personally describe myself as a faith-based intuitive and I believe my abilities are a God-given spiritual gift. Information comes to me at lightning speed and I’m able to see things in my mind’s eye, hear things in my mind, feel sensations in my body, and experience an innate knowing of information that my logical mind cannot perceive. As a faith-based practitioner, when I reference “Spirit”, I am referring to the Holy Spirit.
When a person comes to me for an intuitive reading (whether in-person or online) I begin by introducing myself and explaining how I intuitively receive information. I have a tendency to randomly blurt out information as it comes to me in real time, and I also tend to look off to the side and up at an angle while receiving information. The reading itself is actually just a calm and casual conversation in which I relay information to you and/or answer any specific questions you might have. Sometimes, but not always, loved ones come through in a reading with a message. I don’t have any control over what Spirit shows me, I only ask that all information exchanged is for the highest good of all involved. I have never had a negative or scary reading. Every experience brings clarity, healing, insight, and unconditional love. There’s absolutely nothing to be afraid of.
As a client, the only thing you really need to do to prepare for a reading is to contemplate any questions you would like to ask. Spirit knows what message you need to receive, so your only responsibility is to sit back and relax and open your heart so you’re ready to receive.
I see clients from all over the country, all ages, ethnicities and backgrounds. I especially love my LGBTQ clients. I offer judgment free, compassionate spiritual guidance and virtual intuitive sessions cover relationships, health issues, pets, work related issues, you name it…we talk about it! My hope is it that the stigma of psychic readings will soon become a thing of the past, as the majority of my clients are educated, and successful professionals looking for a little guidance and clarity.
Intuitive readings are also fun! I love doing parties, bachelorette parties and other special events, and pet readings are some of my favorite.
