A new year and a new beginning

No partying all night long for the Brocatos!!

Tony and I stayed home on NYE, and we were in bed by 10pm. We spent New Year’s Day watching college football and that ended in disappointment. Both of our teams, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Alabama Crimson Tide, lost their respective games miserably. Forever fans though, we are so proud of the boys and the amazing season they gave us. Wreck ‘em Roll Tide!

On another note, you cannot start the new year without eating the obligatory black-eyed peas, and of course we obliged. Although tasty, these black-eyed peas were not near as good as those from our garden. A reminder to myself to plant some peas again this summer. It’s worth it.

I’m approaching this year a little differently. A little softer. And I encourage you to do the same. No new year’s resolutions, no goals were set. Just intentions. Intentions and commitments to myself—-ones I intend to keep.
